Battery drain

If you recently purchased a Nothing Phone, it might be running a very old firmware version, which can cause weird performance. Increased battery consumption may occur until you update to the latest version. We also recommend doing the following:

Reset Nothing Launcher state

Clear cache and storage for Nothing Launcher.

Reset Google Play Services state

Clear cache and delete data for Google Play Services (if OS is freshly installed).

Clear AR services cache

Clear cache for Google Play Services for AR.

Restrict launcher battery mode

Set battery usage mode for Nothing Launcher to RESTRICTED.

Remove launcher notification access

Disable notification access for Nothing Launcher.

Restart and fully charge

Restart and fully charge your phone.

Chargers

The phones support Quick Charge 4.0 and Power Delivery 3.0 charging protocols.
  • Nothing Phone 1: 33 Watts
  • Nothing Phone 2, 2a: 45 Watts
All phones support Qi standard wireless charging up to 15 Watts. Recommended GaN charger brands:
  • Baseus
  • Anker
  • Ugreen
The author has been using the Baseus GaN5 Pro 2C+U charger for a year. There are no exact recommendations. Choose a charger based on your needs, such as number of ports, size, and power.

Disabling call recording notification during a call

To disable the voice notification that call recording has started, follow these steps:

Install TTSLexx

Install TTSLexx from Google Play.

Open Text-to-Speech settings

In phone settings, search for Text-to-Speech and open it.

Switch engine to TTSLexx

In Text-to-Speech settings, set Default Text-to-Speech Engine to TTSLexx.

Reset Phone app cache and storage

Go to Apps, open the Phone app, then tap Clear Cache and Clear Storage. Contacts remain safe (confirmed for Google Phone app).
The call recording notification may appear during the first call, but it usually will not occur in subsequent calls.
